Tattoos today are not just a tattoo. It is an expression of today’s youth. When I say youth I mean anyone before 50! Sure some people have them my age but most don’t. Some people get elaborate tattoos some get small ones. Don’t get me wrong, some are in good taste some in my opinion are not. I have friends of mine who have 5 or more tattoos, my niece has several too many to count. I don’t get the whole tattoo thing; I mean can you imagine when someone’s tattoo heads south due to the gravitation pull of old age? Not a pretty sight! (In most cases) ! Tattoos are done for some ceremonial rituals like first deployment, spring break, first night out on the town; you know the important moments in life! People get tattoos of people’s name they are in love with, I don’t get it. Some change names faster than the ink dries. My niece told me she was going to a tattoo party once. That sounded like naked twister after a few drinks to me but I was not going to say anything. Mendy I wonder if the body builder had tattoos, not really I was not wondering! LOL. Anyway, some people have one, some people have many. I have none. I remember I was in the hospital once having surgery, this pretty, young nurse came in to talk to me, she asked me if I had any piercings. I said no, thinking she could look at my ears and tell, I realized later that people get almost anything pierced today. Yes no one has to explain it to me I get it, don’t understand it but I get it. I guess that is an expression too. I actually hear of people getting tattoos removed, that must be bazaar, paying to get one and years later paying to get it taken off. That must hurt like crazy. I hate pain to begin with. I guess that is why they make pain pills (Another blog) LOL. I can’t seem to stare when I see someone who has all the piercings in their face, I look like to say “damn must have been one heck of an accident”. Anyway, yes I am traditional, yes I am an old fart but like I said I just don’t get it. I could imagine if I got Ohio tattooed on my stomach when I was young, can you imagine what it would spell now? I bet OKLAHOMA! Without the I. Until next time!
