How cool is history?
I think it is pretty cool. I liked it in High school, but I had Col Mayberry and Mr. Larson who wouldn’t. I enjoyed it in college and enjoy it in life in general. First and foremost I am no expert on the subject but being in the military for so long I thought it was pretty cool what I learned from the different countries and their beliefs and history. I have been interested in British History since my ancestors got kicked out of there years ago. I guess they did not believe in the same things as the Brits did. I have enjoyed learning about the history of my home town. I bet you have heard the term History has a way of repeating itself. What I know is this. Stonehenge in England was made by British College kids as a prank when they were board after a night of drinking. That is my story and I am sticking to it. That could be why I got a D- on my term paper in school. I know there were two people sitting on the banks of the Boston Tea Party drinking; they were Bartle’s and James. That is where Long Island Ice tea started. Our country was divided in the Civil War and guess what? It is divided today. I was asked once on a final exam how the Germans viewed the sinking of the Lusitania. I said it was through there telescope when they sunk it. (Did not do very well on that exam either). I think the civil rights movement was wrong but it is what it is, it is over we need to move on. We had no business being in Vietnam, but we went and I am glad the US Vets are getting the respect that they so deserve. One thing I learned was a crazy quote from Mexican General Santa Anna. He said “When we invade this country again we will not have to fire one shot” Look at today and tell me he was not ahead of his time. I know when General Custer asked who all the Indians were he found out. Yeah History is pretty neat. I like it and it is funny what I have learned over the years. I also know that Eve bit the apple and we have had problems ever since and Louis and Clarke were lost and did not ask for directions! See history has a way of repeating itself! Until Next time!!!
