Politics

I don’t like to talk politics.  I really don’t care if you’re a democrat or republican but I had a friend of mine ask for help yesterday understanding politics, and her getting interested in to whom to vote for.  I know we vote for change, what we believe in and hope the person we put in office can make a difference.  The problem I see is one person does not make the difference.  The news media does not help.  If they are for the republicans they preach that, if there for the democrats, they preach that. They are not bias at all.  Presidents sign things into law, makes public appearances, and has to make some tough decisions once in a while. Who do you think writes the laws? Not the president!  I guess the point I am trying to make is one person does not make this country what it is. We have senators, congressman, and other public servants we vote for so if you think about it when we voted for these people and there are problems, we can take some of the blame.  If you did not vote than you have no reason to gripe.  In my opinion I think the politicians should save their money, cut their staffs and save that money for the good of the country.  We should be able to cut off most of the commercials on TV involving politics. I also think we can get rid of all the signs everyone puts up during election time.  Put a sign or two at the voting place and call it a day.  In Delaware we have a bury the hatchet day which we look past who won or lost and try to concentrate on making this a better place to live. Might be a good idea to extend this tradition for the entire nation.   We as a nation waste a lot of money on politics.  Some people are very passionate about politics.  Brit’s (royalist) are passionate about their Queen also.  I think our president is more of a figure head than a leader.  He is not making most of the decisions that affect this country.  To me I hope the best person; either male or female, black or white wins.  If they can do the job and are up for the challenge, go for it.  Until next time.
